HONOR YOUR FACE: BEST BRONZERS

I hate looking pale, so naturally bronzing powder is an integral component of my daily makeup routine and a staple in my makeup bag. Don’t get me wrong I think pale alabaster skin is gorgeous (hello, Jessica Chastain) but I have olive skin with yellow undertones so when I am pale I look like I have jaundice.
Even though I always like to appear sunkissed, I am all too aware of the role sun-damage plays in aging so I wear sunscreen everyday rain or shine. Due to my sunblock addiction and limited exposure to the sun my face is extremely pale without makeup or bronzer on. Luckily, there are some great bronzers out there and I want to share with you what I am loving right now. Enjoy!
Tried and True Favorite, Hoola by Benefit
I typically use this for contouring the face. It works pretty well with most skin tones, I recently used it in a contouring video on a very fair model and she looked great (check it out here: Katie May blog, Contouring For Your Wedding Day). You can also use this as a regular bronzer by sweeping it onto the apples of your cheeks and around your hairline and jaw. It’s great for a subtle glow during the day because it has a matte finish.
My NEW Obsession, Naked Flushed by Urban Decay in Streak
I read that Mario Dedivanovic (Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist) used this on Kim to create her bronzed glow on her wedding day. So naturally I ran out and bought it. I am very, very particular about bronzing powders and I LOVE this one. I use this when I am going for a very natural and glowy look. This bronzer works well with fair and dark complexions and you can wear it day or night because it only has a hint of shimmer. An added bonus is that it comes with a bright pink blush with a matte finish and a beautiful incandescent illuminator.
Cult Classic, Blush/Bronzer Duo by Nars in Orgasm and Laguna
To me, pretty much Nars anyting is perfection. I like to use this bronzer if I am going for a more dramatic look. It can definitely be worn day or night but it is a bit darker than the other two I mentioned above and the bronzer and the blush both have a hint of shimmer. This is definitely one of my favorite products and if you don’t have it go get it. (I am wearing this duo in the photo above)
